Essay Test Thursday! Study!

 Essay Test Thursday on Causes of the Spanish-American War
Don't be this guy. Study for this timed exam.

Don't forget to study for Thursday's essay test. Be sure to report directly to the computer lab. 

The essay is worth 100 test points and will be timed for the class period. No extensions.

Here is how you will be graded out of 100 points:

10 points - Handwritten Outline Written Prior to Exam (5 minutes)

15 points - Thesis Statement / Introduction - contains the main points you plan to argue. Based on the prompt.

60 points - Body of Essay - at least four main points w/ significant support for your argument based on your thesis

10 points - One counterclaim argument w/ optional reply

5 points - Conclusion with no new material introduced

Essay Outline Homework

Be Like "Success Kid": Prepare for your Essay Test Next Thursday!

I Rule! A 7/7 Once Again!
The following is due at the beginning of class Next TUESDAY, October 1

Based on the handout I gave you in class on Friday, I want you to complete an outline based on the essay prompt. If you lost the document or were not here Friday, there is a copy of it in your shared reading folder. It is entitled, "Essay Test Modeling Exercise.pdf"

In order to provide significant details to support each main point, please read "Part 2 - The Spanish American War" (Page 12 to the first paragraph on page 17) and re-review your answer to the 18-2 worksheet that you did for homework this week. 

Your outlines should be in short sentences and can be typed or handwritten. I want to see it by Tuesday.
